About the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum
The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum-Forum canadien sur l’apprentissage (CAF-FCA) is an inclusive national body that brings together all players in apprenticeship training. A national, not-for-profit organization working with stakeholders in all regions of Canada, CAF-FCA influences pan-Canadian apprenticeship strategies through research, discussion and collaboration – sharing insights across trades, across sectors and across the country – to promote apprenticeship as an effective model for training and education. About Skills/Compétences Canada
Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) is a national, not-for-profit organization that actively encourages and supports a coordinated Canadian approach to promoting careers in skilled trades and technologies to Canadian youth. Along with our private sector partners, we are helping to secure Canada’s future skilled labour needs. Since its inception in 1989, SCC has evolved into a Pan-Canadian organization offering skilled trades and technology competitions at the regional, provincial/territorial, national and international levels as well as other awareness programs for thousands of young Canadians. About the Campaign
In 2006, the two organizations partnered to develop and launch the Skilled Trades: A Career you can Build On campaign. The campaign reached across Canada through various resources, marketing materials, a new website and even some theatre ads. Its success is still being felt, more than a decade later, with hundreds of daily hits on the Careers In Trades website. In 2012, the two organizations teamed up again to bring a new look and feel, as well as updated information, to its still popular website, especially as the skilled trades shortage is manifesting across various sectors of Canada’s economy.
