Becoming Registered

Once you’re hired, register by completing paperwork at your local apprenticeship office.  This office tracks your progress and ensures your apprenticeship is officially registered with the province or territory.  They provide a logbook to track your hours and may provide information about grants, tax credits available to your employer and other supports.  Registration is a shared responsibility of the apprentice and their employer, so make sure to stay on top of it.

Apprentices should contact their regional offices with questions about certification, assessing prior experience, and relocating or changing employers.
